Speaking Up · 90-Day Spanish Cohort
Start speaking. In sentences. In the past.
For late beginners who understand a lot and are ready to say it out loud, and patchy is allowed.
Placement September 22. Class starts September 29. Five seats. Live online.
Claim your seatYou understand it. Saying it back is the problem.
It shows up in the hallway. At the front desk. In the middle of a sentence you started with confidence and could not finish.
So you switch to English. Or you find the coworker who speaks it, and you pull them off their own work for the third time this week. And you tell yourself you will get around to fixing this.
Speaking Up is ninety days of saying it out loud. Not more vocabulary. The patchy conversation is the stage, not the problem, and this is where you push through it into the past tense and full sentences.
Ninety days.
How ninety days is built
Day 1. Your placement session.
Thirty minutes, one on one. We find your real level and record a short conversation. That recording is your before.
Day 21. Your first real one.
Three minutes, unscripted, no English. Three weeks in, not three months.
Twenty live sessions.
Small group, real speed, you talking.
The Solo Run.
Class ends, the reps do not. Three weeks of practice on your own, because this is where most people quietly lose everything they built.
Day 90. The reunion.
The whole cohort comes back for one live session. You record the same conversation you recorded on Day 1. Then you listen to both. Exact dates may shift around national holidays; we confirm the full schedule at placement.
What you walk in with
- A placement session before day one. Thirty minutes, one on one. You find out where you actually are, and you start in the right room.
- Five seats. Sixty minutes of conversation split five ways is twelve minutes of talking, every session. In a class of fifteen it is four. This is the whole reason the room is small.
- Ten minutes of practice a day, prepared for you. All thirteen weeks of it. No hunting for material. Open it, run it, close it.
- A written recap after every class. Take zero notes. Show up and talk.
- Every session recorded. Work travel does not mean falling behind.
- A practice partner from your cohort. Someone at your level who is also doing the reps.
- Proof. You record the same conversation on Day 1, Day 45, and Day 90. Same prompt every time. In December you get to hear September.
Included with enrollment
First 90 Seconds.
The openings you actually face at work, scripted, so the freeze never gets a chance to start.
The Solo Run Kit.
Three weeks of reps for after the live block, plus your Day 45 and Day 90 recording prompts. Thanksgiving week ships short on purpose.
First two seats only.
A thirty minute private conversation session with your instructor.
Does your employer pay for training?
Many of our students do not pay for this themselves.
Under current federal rules an employer can provide up to $5,250 a year in educational assistance tax free, so approving this costs your organization nothing extra. We can invoice your employer directly, which means you never front the money. You receive an attendance record and a certificate of completion at the end.
Most approvals take one to three weeks. If your employer is funding this, start the conversation now and hold your seat while they approve.
Contact us about employer reimbursementThe letter to send your manager, a one page fact sheet for whoever approves it, and answers to the questions you will get back.
Employer paying? Hold your seat.
$100 opens the reimbursement process and holds one of the five seats while your employer approves. We help you through it. It applies to your tuition, and if the reimbursement does not go through, it is refunded in full.
Hold my seatThe hold simply reserves your seat while approval is underway. No deadline on your end.
The repeat-free guarantee.
Attend sixteen of the twenty sessions, turn in your weekly practice, submit your Day 45 recording, and show up on Day 90. If your Day 90 recording is not better than your Day 1 recording, you take the next cohort at no cost.
Your first week is separate and risk free. Sit in both sessions. If it is not right for you, we refund you or move you to another level.
Tuition
No enrollment fee. That is thirty two hours of live instruction, a placement session, the Day 90 session, daily practice, recaps, recordings, and the guarantee. It works out to about half the hourly rate of working with me privately.
Claim your seatFive seats
Enrollment closes when the placement sessions run, the week before class starts, so every seat is sorted before we begin.
When the five are gone, they are gone. The next stage up is Full Speed in January, the level above this one, where you work at real conversational speed. It is not this class again.
If your employer is funding this and approval will not land before the cohort starts, hold your seat and we will wait for them.

Questions
What level is this for?
Speaking Up is for late beginners. You handle present tense, you understand a lot, and you are starting to reach into the past tense, even if it comes out in pieces. The placement test points you to the right starting line, but it only reads grammar and reading; it cannot hear you speak. The live placement session is where we actually listen and confirm the fit. If you are below or above this stage, we will tell you and point you to the class that fits.
What if I miss a class?
Every session is recorded and you get the written recap. The guarantee requires sixteen of twenty, which leaves room for four real-life absences.
What if I travel for work?
Several of our students do. Recordings and recaps exist for exactly this reason.
Can my employer pay?
Often, yes. Download the Employer Reimbursement Kit and send the letter inside it. We can invoice your organization directly so you never front the cost.
What happens over the holidays?
The live block is scheduled to finish before the Thanksgiving break, so the holiday falls during the Solo Run, and that week's practice ships short on purpose. We confirm the exact calendar at placement, since it shifts a little cohort to cohort around national holidays.
Do I need to buy anything?
One textbook, Complete Spanish Step-by-Step by Barbara Bregstein. Everything else is provided.
What is the refund policy?
Sit in both sessions of week one. If it is not right, we refund you in full or move you to a level that fits. After that, the repeat-free guarantee applies.
What comes after this?
Full Speed, the next stage, in January, where the conversation moves at real speed. It is a separate class, not a required second half of this one. Or Directed Study if you would rather work one on one.
